Councillor Werner Meshoa, born in Calitzdorp, boasts a rich background in education and public service. He earned a National Teachers Diploma from South Cape Teachers College (1995), furthered his studies at Boland College (2003), and obtained a Bachelor of Education Honours Degree from the University of Potchefstroom (2007). Meshoa's career began in education, serving as a teacher at Excelsior VGK Primary School (1996–2013) and as a Subject Advisor for the Western Cape Department of Education (2009). Transitioning to full-time politics in 2013 with ICOSA, he has served continuously as the Ward 2 Councillor since 2011. His political achievements include serving as Speaker of Council, Deputy Executive Mayor, and Mayoral Committee Chairperson for Strategic Services at the Garden Route District Municipality. Beyond his formal political and educational achievements, Meshoa is an ordained Pastor, a registered marriage officer, and a dedicated community leader involved in inter-denominational action groups.
