Annelise Olivier is the Ward 7 Councillor for Bitou Local Municipality, representing the Democratic Alliance (DA) for Airport Road, Kranshoek, and Harkerville. One of the most experienced politicians in the Bitou Council, Olivier has served in various senior leadership roles over more than a decade. She served as the Speaker of the Bitou Municipal Council from 2011 to 2016 and has been re-elected as Ward 7 Councillor in successive elections, including 2016 and 2021. She also served as Chief Whip of the Council and as an MMC member. Olivier is a recognised mentor and community builder who played a pivotal role in encouraging current Mayor Jessica Kamkam to enter politics. She is a strong advocate for private sector investment in rural areas, particularly in Kranshoek, and consistently hosts report-back meetings to keep her constituents informed. Her long-standing commitment to accountability and transparent governance defines her public service career.
