Background and Open Letter from MPOA

The Mossel Bay Property Owners Association (MPOA) is an independent, non‑political organization concerned with the management of the local municipality. The association believes that political interference has undermined South African municipalities over the past 30 years. They argue that meaningful recovery requires removing politics from municipal governance and restoring control of towns to their residents. MPOA established the Eden Movement and supported the creation of Garden Route First, with the primary aim of ensuring that municipalities in the Garden Route are led by non‑political councilors.
