Cllr Monique Simmers is a dedicated community leader with a strong focus on social
development and youth empowerment. Her professional background is in social work and
community development, having worked for several non-governmental organizations
before joining the council. Her work experience includes managing community-based
projects that provide support to vulnerable families and promote skills development
among young people. Cllr Simmers serves on the Social Development and Community
Services committees, where she advocates for increased funding for social welfare
programs. Her formal studies include a degree in social work and certificates in community
leadership. Her achievements include the successful establishment of a local youth center
and the coordination of numerous community health awareness campaigns. Cllr Simmers
is known for her empathy and her commitment to social justice. She is a vocal
representative for the residents of Ward 5, ensuring that their social and economic needs
are addressed by the municipality.
